abstract

abstract in this study, trends of threshold heavy precipitation were examined on the basis of measurements of 1437 stations (included synoptic, climatic and rain gage stations) in iran for the period of 40 years (1964-2003). for this purpose, the statistical method of nonparametric mann-kendall test is used for analyzinging the thresholds of heavy precipitation and nonparametric sen method for estimating the slope of a linear trend. the results showed that there is a significant increasing trend in threshold of annual heavy precipitation over iran, especially from 1992 to 2003 and this increasing is estimated as an average of 0.5 mm per year. meanwhile, maximum and minimum thresholds of heavy precipitation which is estimated are obtained respectively 0.78 mm and 0.22 mm for every year.

An Analysis of precipitation Periods trend in Iran

Abstract The purpose of this article is to analyze the frequency and severity of the one to six days of rainfall in Iran. The trend of frequency changes and severity of each course was identified using my-candle test and the slope estimator during the 1968-1988 period. Then, using the main component analysis method and cluster analysis method, the entire stations were categorized in five clust...

Spatial Analysis of variation of inter-annual distribution of precipitation in Iran over recent decades (1970-2016)

Introduction Geographical situation of Iran is a place for interacting many physical and human processes which lead to specific precipitation climatology in the country. The month to month variation of precipitation is one of  the features which the precipitation climatology may reflect due to tempo - spatial characteristics. In fact, monthly distribution of precipitation is one of precipitati...

annual and seasonal precipitation trend analysis of some selective meteorological stations in central region of iran using non-poarametric methods

abstract the aim of this paper is to investigate annual and seasonal precipitation trends of some selective meteorological stations of central region in iran using non-parametric methods. two non-parametric methods including mann-kendall and sen's estimator slope methods were used here to analyze the seasonal and annual trends of precipitation data. some 48 meteorological stations in centr...

Spatial analysis of annual precipitation of Khuzestan province; An approach of spatial regressions analysis

Knowing of precipitation values in different regions is always of main and strategic issues of human which has important role in short- term and long-term decisions. In order to determine of precipitation model and forecasting it, there are different models, but given that the precipitation data have a spatial autocorrelation, the spatial statistic is a powerful tool to recognition of spatial b...

spatial distribution of the annual precipitation trend in iran in the period 1960-2001

many studies on precipitation trend have been performed in recent years (e.g., brunetti et al., 2006; rodrigo et al., 2007; turkesh, 1996), but spatial analysis of the sign of trends is rarely carried out (suppiah and hennessy, 1998; de luis et al., 2000). in the present paper we analyze the observational precipitation data from some oldest meteorological stations to investigate the possible sy...

Analysis of inter-decade changes in trends and spatial patterns of annual and seasonal precipitation, case study: West of Iran

The present research about the spatial changes of precipitation is mainly focused on western areas of Iran. Precipitation data for three seasons of fall, winter, and spring have been obtained from Esafzari Database, with 15*15 km spatial resolution in the form of a Lambert Cone Image System for the period from 1986 to 2015. To examine the prevailing pattern of precipitation in west of Iran, we ...
